HarborPath Appoints Jeanne Marrazzo, MD, MPH, FACP to its Board of Directors
Charlotte, NC ---March 20, 2018 - HarborPath, a non-profit corporation dedicated to assisting low-income, uninsured individuals living with HIV/AIDS, hepatitis C and other chronic conditions gain access to their entire regimen of medications, has appointed Jeanne Marrazzo, MD, MPH, FACP to its Board of Directors. Dr. Marrazzo is currently the Director of the Division of Infectious Diseases at the University of Alabama @ Birmingham. She is acknowledged for her research and education efforts in the field of sexually transmitted infections, especially as they affect women’s health.
Dr. Marrazzo is internationally recognized for her research in the prevention of HIV infections using biomedical interventions, including PrEP and microbicides.

Dr. Marrazzo obtained her undergraduate degree from Harvard and Radcliffe College and medical degree from Jefferson Medical College. She completed residency training and chief residency in internal medicine at Yale-New Haven Hospital. She obtained a master’s degree in public health in epidemiology at the University of Washington in 1994, where she also completed a fellowship in infectious diseases.
Dr. Marrazzo said, “HarborPath serves as a lifeline to the patients I have cared and advocated for my entire career.
